Alberta Amateur MMA Rule Changes

Hard Knocks intends to suggest some rule changes for amateur MMA in Alberta.

Based on the first Hard Knocks event and recent decisions made by the Calgary Combative Commission as set forth in their March meeting minutes, Hard Knocks thinks the rules should be modified as follows:

1] each round should be shortened from 5 minutes to 4 minutes;

2] the rest period between rounds should be increased from 60 seconds to 90 seconds;

3] twisting leg locks should be banned;

4] blood tests should be valid for 6 months; and

5] a syphilis test should be required.

Please post any comments you have related to the rules on the Hard Knocks blog so we can take them into account when we make our proposal to the AAMMAA.

STOKR/Habitat for Humanity

I am pleased to announce that I will be participating in the 16th annual STOKR Scenic Tour of the Kootenai River in Libby, Montana. Along with other riders, we will be benefiting the Kootenai Valley Partners Habitat for Humanity, helping to build a home.

It takes 2 STOKR fundraisers to build one Habitat Humanity Home.

I am looking forward to a fantastic weekend and a great ride.
